How To Install AppCake (Installous Alternative)

Although Installous was the very first jailbreak-community app that let us download AppStore apps for free, it is by no means perfect. Whether you are sick and tired of waiting for downloads, errors, or just want to try something new, AppCake is the most popular alternative!

How to install AppCake

AppCake requires your device to be jailbroken with Cydia and to be running iOS 4.0 or higher.

Step 1: Launch Cydia, tap onto Sources. If your device doesn't have Cydia, you'll need to jailbreak it by follow a tutorial here.

Step 2: Add a new source:

http://cydia.iphonecake.com

**Step 3:**Search for AppCake. iPhone and iPod Touch users should install AppCake or AppCake+ whereas iPad users should install AppCake HD.

Step 4: Once Cydia completes the installation, reboot your device. You should now be able to find AppCake on your Springboard.
