Inateck UA2001 IDE + SATA To USB 3.0 Converter Review
If you deal with hard drives more often than not, you should stop reading and purchase the Inateck UA2001 IDE + SATA To USB 3.0 Converter right now. Don't take it lightly - this product is in a league of it's own!
It allows you to connect any SATA or IDE hard drive to your computer via USB. That includes SATA I, SATA II, SATA III, IDE 40-pin and IDE 44-pin drives. It takes full advantage of the latest technologies by incorporating a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed chip which allows faster transfer speeds between your hard drive and computer.
This product is ideal for anyone that repairs and troubleshoots computers; installs operating systems or occasionally needs to access files from an old hard drive.
It's well built and doesn't feel cheap at all. You can connect all three ports simultaneously without interfering with each other and access each hard drive like a normal USB device.
The Inateck UA2001 provides an ouput power of 12V/2A which is enough to connect and power full-size 3.5inch hard drives without any glitches. It comes with a power adapter, software CD, USB cable, the converter itself and a cable to provide extra power to 3.5inch drives.
It features an on/off switch which is useful and allows you to easily disconnect your drives safely without having to pull the plug. For the features it offers, this is hands-down the most useful tool for anybody dealing with hard drives on a regular basis.
Although the Inateck UA2001 does make use of some of the most current technology; it does lack both an mSATA and eSATA port, or adapter. To really round this product off and make it untouchable, it would be ideal to include some technologies which are beginning to gain traction, or make life incredibly easy for the user. If I'm not asking for too much - the Inateck UA2001 should have PCIe compatibility too for those super-fast SSDs high-end manufactures like Apple are beginning to use.
Even without the extreme features mentioned afore, I think the Inateck is one of the best products I have reviewed in a while. Perhaps it's because I have reviewed it at a time where I seem to increasingly be dealing with hard drives and this makes my work so much simpler and easier.
